Clients often seek us out for proper trim restoration. On these dormers the rot was so advanced that not a single trim element could be saved, so we chose careful replication and replacement over repair. Even the rigging was a challenge, with only a narrow alley between the house and its neighbor.
We use cypress for exterior work like this to make sure it lasts. Simplifying the trim profiles would have made the job easier, but we hand-milled every replacement piece to match the dormers’ original form.
